Merian is one of the six main protagonists of StuGo. She, among with other classmates are tricked into attending a fake academic summer camp by Dr. Lullah.

Physical
Merian is a young Scottish-American girl of medium height with light pale skin, reddish brunette hair worn in a ponytail with a green hair tie, black eyes, and light blue braces.
Attire
Her clothing consists of a denim pantsuit jacket over a dark green skirt followed by a lighter green blouse with a white folded collar, accompanied with a golden brooch, blue pearl earrings, white socks, and black Mary Jane shoes.
Personality
Merian is a sensitive, cautious yet highly intelligent girl who tends to be quite anxious and overthinks a lot of things (what if the group starves in Dog Eat Dog, what if she's a failure in Legitimate Summer Camp).
She is also a bookworm, as she was fascinated with books and hated when they were destroyed. Luckily, she has friends (especially Pliny) by her side. In order to overcome a lot of obstacles, Merian will push herself to extreme measures no matter what.
In The Leg Farm, Merian is shown to have RIA (Relaxation-Induced Anxiety) the more she tries to relax, the worse her worrying she gets. She also acts crazy and freaked out when that happens.
Merian often takes the pragmatist role out of her friends and can be sarcastic as well as quite irritable. She likes to take charge when it comes to planning things and doing group activities. Merian is insecure about her appearances, often hosting parties and events to please people. when assigned a role or job, Merian sticks to it seriously.

- Affinity towards books: In "Dog Eat Dog", Merian easily gets through her books.
- Communication with Dolphins: Having been taught at a young age, Merian is adept at Dolpfish, allowing her to communicate fluently with dolphins such as Tara.
- Acting: Merian sometimes pretends to be a lawyer, even calling herself "Merian the Maritime Hammer".
Weaknesses
- Anxiety: Merian tends to let her anxiety get the best of her, causing her to overthink. This is spotlighted in "Sister Swim"; Merian, out of fear she would be outshined by her dolphin sister Tara on the one summer she gets to be herself, tries to undermine her efforts, up until the point she snaps at her.

- Her interest in keeping everything neat and tidy implied that she either has Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (the need to keep everything aligned) or is on the autism spectrum (she prefers things to be done a certain way), though either are yet to be confirmed.
- Merian can speak "dolfish", due to having a dolphin sister.
- Merian seems to be the only one that takes the student government group seriously, hence her jacket.
- Merian's dog allergies have nothing to do with Mr. Okay.
- Merian's voice actress Zosia Mamet also voices Hekapoo from another Disney Channel series Star vs. The Forces of Evil.
